Joe FM is a young Belgian radio station that targets a broad audience. They tend to infuse their ad campaigns with a healty dosage of humour. To promote their carnaval top 100 a weeklong series of newspaper adverts were launched on a national scale. The campaign featured altered titles of carnaval classics.
Toykyo’s part of the campaign was to provide typographic illustration that evoked a humorous, festive atmosphere while still remaining faithfull to the whimsical style of JOE FM.
Following the succes of the carnaval campaign, we were commissioned to provide the illustration for the radiostation's 1 year anniversary.
